Water soluble Vitamin C derivative with superior stability in formulations compared to L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a salt that converts to ascorbic acid when applied to the skin and is gentler and more stable on the skin compared to L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). Acts on the melanin formation process to prevent hyperpigmentation and senile keratosis. Exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial benefits. Works synergistically with Vitamin E.

Has emollient properties: sebaceous gland secretion is a physiological pathway for the delivery of vitamin E to upper layers of facial skin. This mechanism may serve to protect skin surface lipids and the upper stratum corneum from harmful oxidation. Significant photoprotection against UVB rays.
