SCIENCE BASED CLINICAL SKINCARE

HA1

Overview

Deeply hydrate, firm and revitalize the skin with this advanced high molecular weight hyaluronic acid formulation. Daily use maintains moisture balance while leaving your skin with a sense of comfort and softness

Clinical Application Note:

A note on application: HA is a highly environment-dependent humectant. In humid conditions, it draws moisture from the air into the skin. However, in dry or low-humidity environments, it can pull water from the deeper layers of the skin upward — potentially leaving skin feeling drier if used alone.

For optimal results, always apply HA underneath an emollient or moisturizer. The emollient creates an occlusive seal over the HA, locking in the water it has attracted and preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). This layering technique allows the skin to fully benefit from HA's water-binding properties — keeping skin continuously hydrated, soft, and barrier-supported.

Why it Works: Active Substances

Explore the key actives and their benefits for your skin.

High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid: HMW hyaluronic acid (generally defined as >1,000 kDa) functions primarily on the skin's surface, acting as a potent humectant that forms a barrier to lock in moisture. Unlike lower molecular weight variants that penetrate deeper, HMW hyaluronic acid provides immediate surface hydration, improves skin elasticity, and offers soothing, anti-inflammatory benefits.

Propanediol : A lightweight emollient and humectant derived from corn starch fermentation. Colorless and odorless, it draws moisture into the skin while stimulating ceramide synthesis to restore the lipid barrier and reduce transepidermal water loss — leaving skin hydrated, supple, and resilient. Key Benefits Attracts and retains moisture (humectant) Restores skin lipid barrier function Stimulates ceramide synthesis Reduces transepidermal water loss Lightweight, colorless, and fragrance-free Ideal For All skin types, especially dry, dehydrated, or compromised barrier skin.

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice: a medicinal plant that has been used for centuries for its therapeutic properties: this healing plant consists of a range of compounds including water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins, minerals, enzymes, polysaccharides, phenolic compounds and organic acids. acids. Antiseptic properties from salicylic acid, lupeol, sulfur which is found in the plant. Antibacterial properties from aloin and emodin which are found in the plant. Binds moisture to skin from its mucopolysaccharides. Anti-inflammatory and healing properties from glucomannan. Cellular regeneration due to its antioxidant properties.

Saccharomyces Ferment / Sea Silt: is a marine-derived active obtained by fermenting baker's yeast with mineral-rich sea silt, then filtering the cells to concentrate a bioactive complex of low-molecular-weight peptides, amino acids, nucleotides, vitamins, trace minerals, beta-glucan, and polysaccharides. The result is a highly bioavailable, multifunctional ingredient that improves skin hydration, texture, and barrier resilience.

Glycerin is a sugar alcohol compound containing carbons and hydrophilic hydroxyl groups that can be obtained from natural sources or can be synthesized. It is obtained from organic plant oils like organic palm, organic soya, and organic coconut oil. It is water soluble and non-toxic • Acts as a moisturizing and emollient agent in which it can soften and soothe skin • Acts as a humectant: It is used in formulas to help the skin retain moisture: It is highly hygroscopic (tending to absorb moisture from the air) and viscous (having a thick, sticky consistency between solid and liquid), odorless, and colorless. Endogenous glycerol plays a role in skin hydration, cutaneous elasticity and epidermal barrier repair. The aquaporin-3 transport channel and lipid metabolism in the pilosebaceous unit have been evidenced as potential pathways for endogenous delivery of glycerol and for its metabolism in the skin. • Multiple diverse effects of glycerol on the epidermis have been reported: • Improvement of stratum corneum hydration • Skin barrier function and skin mechanical properties • Protection against irritating stimuli • Enhancement of desmosomal degradation • Acceleration of wound wound-healing processes • Antimicrobial effects have been demonstrated.

Sodium PCA is an endogenous component of the skin's Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) — meaning the body produces it naturally. It accounts for approximately 14% of the NMF in the stratum corneum and is one of the skin's primary moisture-binding agents. As a highly hygroscopic humectant, it holds several times its weight in water, drawing moisture from the environment and from deeper skin layers to hydrate and retain moisture at the surface. Key Benefits Superior Hydration — Binds and retains moisture at the skin surface, delivering deep, lasting hydration. Barrier Support — Reinforces the skin's barrier function, helping to maintain structural integrity. Acid Mantle Protection — Helps sustain the skin's acidic pH, which is essential for defense against microorganisms. Biocompatible & Non-Irritating — Because it is endogenous to the skin, topically applied Sodium PCA is exceptionally well-tolerated across all skin types. Anti-Aging — Replenishes declining NMF levels associated with aging and environmental stress, reducing the appearance of fine lines and restoring suppleness. Aging & Replenishment As skin ages or is exposed to environmental stressors, natural Sodium PCA production declines — resulting in drier, less resilient skin. Topical application helps replenish these depleted levels, making it a clinically relevant ingredient for both intense hydration protocols and anti-aging routines.
